Leprechaun is a series of horror comedy films consisting of eight films. Beginning with 1993's Leprechaun (filmed in 1991) the series centers on a malevolent and murderous leprechaun referred to as Lubdan, who, when his gold is taken from him, resorts to any means necessary to reclaim it. None of the films in the series are presented in chronological order.
The Pink Panther is an American animated television series starring the Pink Panther and his co-stars from the original cartoon shorts in a series of brand new stories. The program was credited as being a co-production of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Animation, Mirisch-Geoffrey-DePatie-Freleng and United Artists, though only the former was responsible for its production, as the other properties either ceased to exist or were transferred to MGM a decade before it was aired. It was distributed by Claster Television and King World Productions and not MGM Television, despite MGM owning The Pink Panther. Unlike other animated series featuring the Pink Panther, this is the only series where he and the Little Man have the ability to speak.
The show was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994 for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.[1]
Premise[edit]
The 1993 incarnation of The Pink Panther starred the legendary hip feline in series of brand new adventures, in which he dealt with different situations in a manner similar to the original Looney Tunes shorts, ranging from modern day situations such as working as a delivery boy to outlandish situations like living in caveman days. Unlike previous television series and almost the entire theatrical run, the series was produced with the Panther capable of speaking throughout the episodes, to allow more interaction with other characters. Voiced by Matt Frewer, he was given a humorous American accent in order to appeal to younger children, which was in sharp contrast to the sophisticated British accent supplied by impressionist Rich Little who voiced the Panther briefly in two 1965 cartoon shorts, Sink Pink and Pink Ice.[2][3]
Alongside the Pink Panther, a number of his co-stars from the original theatrical shorts appear in the series, including: The Inspector, who the Panther assists in the guise of an American police officer; The Ant and the Aardvark, with John Byner reprising the role of both characters;[2]The Dogfather and his henchdogs Pugg and Louie, who were redesigned for this series; The Muscle Man from the 1968 cartoon Come On In! The Water's Pink; The Witch from the 1969 cartoon Pink-A-Rella; and 'The Little Man', who like the Panther, was also designed to speak in the series, with Wallace Shawn providing his voice. The series also featured new characters, including a mask-wearing tribal witch doctor named Voodoo Man, a little red-headed girl named Thelma, and a sweet old lady named Mrs. Chubalingo and her pet parrot Jules.

Production[edit]
In 1992, MGM/UA decided to produce new Pink Panther cartoons with a twist that he would be able to speak, hoping to bring new life to the panther. That same year, MGM/UA met with its licensees to explain the changes that were made to the character and arm them with essential artwork needed to spring the panther for the brand-new series.[5] This decision was controversial and unpopular, and the Panther turned out to be a blabbering fool, despite the animation being well-done. During this time, Marvel Productions was on the brink of merging with New World Pictures.[6]
Casting[edit]
In 1993, Rich Little, who voiced the character in the original cartoons, was approached to reprise his role as the pink feline. However, Little did not recall voicing the character at all and turned down the offer saying giving the panther a voice would ruin the character.[6] Producer David DePatie felt that giving the panther a voice would 'compromise the integrity of the character.' But once the producers saw Matt Frewer fill in the lines for the panther, they thought it was fantastic and they accepted it.[4]

- Stefano Accorsi as Leonardo Notte. Having become very faithful to Silvio Berlusconi, he continues his path to persuade him to rise himself into politics; he left Bibi Mainaghi and he's now engaged with physiotherapist Arianna Rosato, mother of a small child, to whom the man is very attached. Arianna is, however, the ex-wife of Rocco Venturi, father of her son, the corrupt cop killed by Leo. He is arrested for being found guilty of the murder but will be pulled out by Luigi Brancato. Being abandoned by Berlusconi goes to the other side as he begins to attend the PdS but in fact he's just studying the moves to return to Berlusconi, but he must also see him with Arianna, who, not believing in his innocence about Rocco's death, will shoot him gunshot.
- Guido Caprino as Pietro Bosco. Always alcoholic and under the influence of narcotics, it is first moved away from the Lega Nord but then rehabilitated following its plentiful gesture in parliament against the Italian Socialist Party, after which it succeeds in gaining a place in the RAI supervisory board against Bortolotti (who leaves his post as a deputy to return to Milan, as tired of the unscrupulous and corrupt life of the capital); through her new position he will unsuccessfully try to get closer to Veronica, but not in the meantime, meanwhile, to finish in bed with her sister, the journalist Giulia. Cutting off Gianfranco Miglio can regain Umberto Bossi.
- Miriam Leone as Veronica Castello. She managed to enter the TV tour that counts as the first ballerina of Bagaglino. She has a personal agent who provides frequent interviews, covers and hosts of prestigious television. But she has a traumatic event and a meeting with Davide Corsi, a gossip journalist who dreams of becoming a writer. He loves her and he will make her reconsider all her life. At the end she decides to enter politics alongside Silvio Berlusconi.
- Domenico Diele as Luca Pastore. Parallel to Mani Pulite investigation continues his personal investigation of malevolence. The meeting with Eve, a HIV-positive girl, will convince him to start looking at his situation under a different perspective. He will be able to uncover the scandal of the infected blood, because of which he has become sick, then decides to leave Italy with Eva, and to go to Panama to spend there the little time he has to live on.
- Tea Falco as Beatrice 'Bibi' Mainaghi. At the top of the family business, close to the prosecutor's inquiries on one side and his mafia business partners on the other. She will decide to leave this situation when she knows that her father Michele did not actually commit suicide but was assassinated by order of Luigi Brancato, the mafia boss of the holding Mainaghi's occult partner, deciding to become a collaborator of justice, but the betrayal of his brother Zeno (who seeks to get the job) will be fatal.
